Certifications |
ACCi currently has technicians with a variety of certifications in order to better serve our customer base. Certifications ensure that an engineer has the
technical expertise in a particular area to attack a problem, provide an answer, or design a solution that best meets the customer's needs. Certifications also
ensure that the customer receives the maximum benefit from the minimum time allotted to a particular solution. ACCi has certified technicians that receive
in-house, classroom, laboratory and field training to complete their education and work experience. The following are just a few of the certifications possessed by
ACCi staff.
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
For network professionals, Microsoft offers the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer
(MCSE) credential. MCSEs are qualified to effectively plan, implement, maintain, and
support information systems in a wide range of computing environments using the Microsoft Windows NT Server and the Microsoft BackOffice integrated family of server
products. MCSEs are required to pass four operating system exams and two elective exams that provide a valid and reliable measure
of technical proficiency and expertise. These exams are developed with the input of professionals in the industry and reflect how Microsoft products are used in
organizations throughout the world. The operating system exams require candidates to prove their expertise with desktop, server, and networking components. The
elective exams require proof of expertise with Microsoft BackOffice products. Electives cover the following topics and more:
SNA Server
Systems Management Server
TCP/IP
SQL Server
Exchange Server
Site Server
Internet Information Server
Proxy Server
Microsoft Certified Application Developers (MCAD)
The Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD) credential provides industry recognition for professional developers who build powerful applications using
Microsoft Visual Studioฎ .NET and Web services. MCAD candidates are required to pass two core exams and one elective exam in an area of specialization.
The MCAD certification helps an individual develop, test, deploy, and maintain department-level applications, components, Web or desktop clients, or database and
network services using Microsoft tools and technologies.
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
For those who want to demonstrate expertise with a particular Microsoft product, Microsoft offers the Microsoft Certified Professional
(MCP) credential. Candidates may
pass additional Microsoft certification exams to further qualify their skills with Microsoft BackOffice products, development tools, or desktop applications. To
become an MCP, a technician must pass one certification exam that provides a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise. MCP exams are
developed with the input of professionals in the industry and reflect how Microsoft products are used in organizations throughout the world.
Certified Novell Engineer (CNE)
A Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) will provide enhanced on-the-job performance. They are more effective at managing network environments than non-certified employees; and, they improve a
company's overall network efficiency. CNE training gives the engineer the skills to provide high-end, solutions-based technical support, such as:
Network planning, installation and configuration
Performing system upgrades
Improving network printing performance
Managing network databases
A CNE has a working knowledge of fundamental IT concepts, including microcomputer platform environments and local operating system concepts (MS DOS and MS Windows)
prior to entering the CNE program. The
CNE will specialize in one or more of these areas:
GroupWise 4 and/or GroupWise 5
NetWare 3 - the world's most common networking platform
NetWare 4.11 - with NDS and Internet capabilities
NetWare 5 - Novell's newest, most advanced networking platform
Certified Novell Administrator (CNA)
Certified Novell Administrators (CNA) provide on-site administration for software users in a variety of work environments, including professional offices and small
businesses, workgroups or departments, and corporate information services (IS). In short, CNAs handle the day-to-day administration of an installed Novell
networking product:
intraNetware
NetWare
GroupWise
CNA certification is recognized worldwide as the standard of excellence for administering Novell products. Small
businesses to corporate IS departments worldwide are using CNAs to provide personalized, on-site administrative support for intraNetware and GroupWise users. As a
CNA, you can provide this level of support in a variety of ways, from assisting users in a workgroup environment to handling entry-level IS help desk calls.
Compaq Accredited Systems Engineer (ASE)
The Compaq Accredited Systems Engineer Program
(ASE) offers a multi-level approach to certification. This allows candidates to take advantage of the program's education
and benefits, as well as recognizes their progress through the levels of the ASE Program. ASE candidates complete a series of rigorous exams to demonstrate Compaq
product knowledge and integration proficiency. In preparation for these exams, candidates complete a curriculum that provides extensive training on integrating
Compaq hardware with various operating systems and applications.
To ensure that Compaq ASEs have the knowledge and expertise to perform at their best with Compaq platforms, periodic maintenance training is required by
Compaq. The amount of maintenance training required throughout a year depends solely on Compaq product and solution announcements, and whether Compaq determines
that the new product training requires additional technical or presales training. ASEs are required to complete all these requirements to maintain their ASE
accreditation.
The ASE tracks include the following:
Intel/NetWare Specialist
Intel/Windows NT Specialist
Intel+Storageworks Specialist
Critical Problem Resolutions Specialist
Alpha/Tru64 Specialist
Alpha/OVMS Specialist
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is the precursor to all Cisco certifications, and was created to equip technicians with networking skills.
It was created not only to provide a solid introduction to the Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS) and to Cisco hardware,
but internetworking in general.
This benefits the technician not only in the Cisco areas, but others as well. To meet the CCNA Certification skill set, the engineer must meet the following
requirements:
Install, configure, and operate routed LAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN and LANE networks.
Understand and be able to configure IP, IGRP, IPX, serial, AppleTalk, Frame Relay IP RIP, VLANs, IPX RIP, Ethernet and Access Lists.
| Optimize WAN through Internet access solutions that reduce bandwidth and reduce WAN costs using features such as filtering with access lists,
bandwidth on demand (BOD), and dial-on-demand routing (DDR). |
Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA)
Citrix Certified Administrators (CCA) are industry professionals who have demonstrated a thorough knowledge of the MetaFrame or WinFrame products. ACCi employs
staff members with CCA certifications in order to assist those businesses that have Citrix and Windows NT Server Terminal Server Edition products.
